Are hosting CSV/Excel Files similar to hosting images w/ dropbox

Hi Alex, I know we can upload listing images with dropbox. But, I was wondering if you've ever had experience hosting other file types on web pages. I believe dropbox can hold these file types as well. But, I may switch to AWS S3 for this. Not sure how to compare though two. by the way, here is a prototype of my project: https://www.govmind.org/. Thanks for your help so far!

Alex, the paperclip-dropbox gem is obsolete. Need help. Need alternative solution. [OBSOLETE] Extends Paperclip with Dropbox storage. https://github.com/janko-m/paperclip-dropbox

That's too bad that it's no longer maintained. As an alternative, I recommend using AWS S3 with paperclip instead. You'll be able to find more info on that here: https://github.com/thoughtbot/paperclip#storage

You can also use AWS S3 with carrierwave instead of paperclip. For more details on how to set this up, you should take a look at our Yelpdemo course.

I checked out your site - pretty cool! I'm sure it's still a work in progress, but thought I'd let you know that the Facebook signup isn't working at the moment.

As for hosting non-image files, I know that both carrierwave and paperclip have this capability and AWS S3 as well (though I haven't confirmed this for myself). You should be able to see more details about it in the documentation for the two gems. Hope that helps!
