Sign up and register using Linkedin

Hi Alex, thanks for creating such a great program to learn. I just completed the Etsy demo course and now I want users to be able to sign-up/login-in using LinkedIn. I'm following the tutorial found on http://raphael.crawfordmarks.com/post/47365064450/integrating-with-linkedin-using-rails-mongoid-devise but don't know how to "Create a new embedded document model for storing the authentication credentials". Most likely I'll get stuck on another part of the tutorial. Can you help out with the tutorial by creating a video to do that?

Thanks for the suggestion. Facebook/Twitter/LinkedIn integration is a tutorial request that we've gotten from a few people before, but it's pretty difficult to implement for students who are just starting to pick up Ruby on Rails. I'd love to release an advanced course in the future, and if so, social integration is a feature that will definitely be on that list.

In the meantime, I think you might have an easier time if you weren't following a tutorial that used Mongoid. It can be pretty tough to not only set up a relatively difficult feature, but also learn to do it in Mongoid at the same time. Instead, try a tutorial like this one (http://sourcey.com/rails-4-omniauth-using-devise-with-twitter-facebook-and-linkedin/) that uses the standard ActiveRecord instead.

Thanks Alex for your quick answer. I followed the tutorial but still having problems:

Showing /Users/futurenbain8/Desktop/odesk/app/views/devise/shared/_links.html.erb where line #14 raised:

undefined method `new_confirmation_path' for #<#<Class:0x007f9a6ca69588>:0x007f9a6d979730>

Here is the link to the github: https://github.com/openvelvet/odesk

It would be awesome to see the video soon or if you could help.

Thanks,
Omar

Sorry Omar, while we offer troubleshooting support for our own videos, we can't provide code support for outside tutorials (we would need to hike up our subscription rates for that!). If you need someone to dig into your code, I recommend posting on Stack Overflow or looking on a site like CodeMentor. Otherwise, I'd be happy to help you think through it on a high level.

No worries Alex, funny enough the problem was just restarting the server -.- I just have to be a bit more careful with standard rules.

I got the page to load but need to figure out one small thing, but I'll get it done.

Thanks again for everything you do for us noobs.

Great job - I'm glad to hear that you managed to solve the problem. I'd also love to check out your app once you've finished building it. Send me a link!
